Timeless Contrast: A Detached Garage Transformation Cayucos
Project Overview
This project focused on completing the exterior finish of a newly constructed detached garage, designed to complement the main home while adding long-term durability and visual appeal. The goal was to create a bold yet timeless look that enhances the property’s overall design.
Getting Started
Proper preparation was key to achieving a lasting finish. Surfaces were carefully cleaned, inspected, and protected to ensure optimal adhesion and clean transitions between siding, trim, and architectural details.
The Work
A rich two-tone color palette was selected to highlight the structure’s craftsman-style lines. Deep navy siding provides strong contrast against crisp white trim and garage doors, creating a refined and balanced appearance.
Products & Colors Used:
- Sherwin-Williams Emerald® Exterior Acrylic Latex
- Dress Blues SW 9176 – Primary siding
- Rice Grain SW 6155 – Secondary siding areas
- Sherwin-Williams Emerald® Exterior Acrylic Latex (Satin)
- Alabaster SW 7008 – Trim, fascia, posts, beams
- Sherwin-Williams Emerald® Urethane Trim Enamel
- Dress Blues SW 9176 (Semi-Gloss) – Exterior doors
These premium coatings were selected for their durability, color retention, and resistance to sun and moisture.
Outcome
The finished structure now feels cohesive, polished, and intentionally designed. The bold contrast enhances architectural details while providing long-term protection and performance.
